Kenosha AeroV Financial Headquarters

AeroV Financial Selects Kenosha for Headquarters

When Vince Borst, President of AeroV Financial, set out to find a location for his company headquarters, he needed the site to be inspiring. As a pilot with a commercial certificate for single engine airplane (land/sea), instrument, multi-engine (land), helicopter and remote pilot ratings, Vince hoped to find a space near an airport.

Thankfully, the search didn’t take long and Vince quickly found the ideal location: an office at the Kenosha Regional Airport in Wisconsin. In addition to being a pilot, Vince is also an airplane flight instructor, with single, multi-engine and instrument ratings, and an advanced and instrument ground instructor. Situating the AeroV Financial office at the Kenosha Airport allows him to satisfy his passion for flying and for the drone community.

Kenosha Airport

The Kenosha Regional Airport is located off I-94, servicing businesses in Wisconsin and Illinois, most importantly the cities of Milwaukee and Chicago. It serves corporate aircrafts and provides freight and cargo services to local hospitals, making it one of the most active general aviation airports in Wisconsin without scheduled passenger service. Construction for the airport began in 1958 and over the years, improvements have been made to keep up with demand. The airport is currently home to over 270 aircraft, over 50 hangars, four flight schools, and several corporate headquarters, including AeroV Financial. Plans to reconstruct and extend the primary runway were announced and approved in 2018, with an estimated completion date planned for 2020. This expansion will better serve current and future traffic, allowing the Kenosha Airport to accommodate larger corporate aircraft.

City of Kenosha

Situated on Lake Michigan in between Milwaukee and Chicago, Kenosha offers many entertainment options for residents and tourists alike. From the many public beaches to its beautiful parks, the highlight of Kenosha is the waterfront. The Sculpture Walk in Harbor Park is a must see for all visitors, featuring a rotating display of art along the promenade. Nearby, visitors can also visit the Kenosha Public Museum, featuring natural sciences collections and fine art. The Civil War Museum is also close by, which opened in 2008 and features the personal stories of the men, women, and children from the Midwest, and details their experiences before, during, and after the Civil War.

Downtown Kenosha features many lively restaurants, shops and galleries along the waterfront. Bargain shoppers can find deals at the nearby Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets and the kids will get a kick out of the Jelly Belly Factory, where they can tour the factory for free and get free samples of Jelly Belly candy. A visit to Kenosha is also not complete without a stop at the Mars Cheese Castle. Open2 for over 60 years, the shop specializes in Wisconsin cheese, sausage, wine, and baked goods. The Mars Cheese Castle also features a café and grill that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it a great road trip stop.

Kenosha History

The name Kenosha has multiple origins. It is believed to come from the Potawatomi word “Kenozia,” meaning “place of the pike,” referencing the waters of Pike Creek. The Menominee people named the area “Kenusiw,” roughly translating to the “place of the long fish,” referencing the pickerel and northern pike that are plentiful in the river.

When the first settlers arrived in 1836, they named their post office Pike Creek. But as the population grew and the area became an important port for shipping, the name Kenosha was adopted and made official in 1850. Kenosha became a hub for the transportation industry, with automotive manufacturers including the Nash Motor Company, American Motors Company and the DaimlerChrysler Corporation setting up shop in the area.

The hustle and bustle of daily life at the Kenosha Airport provides Vince Borst and the AeroV Financial team with constant stimulus. It also allows them to stay up to date with current trends in the aircraft and ROV community and provides them the opportunity to interact with other pilots, corporate leaders, and airport staff. The central location of the city of Kenosha in between Milwaukee and Chicago provides easy access for meetings and demonstrations as well.
